The development of Fujian's new materials industry is accelerating, with increasing industrial clustering effects, gradual improvement of the innovation system, and continuous enrichment of new material varieties. A group of leading backbone enterprises has been cultivated, including CATL, San'an Optoelectronics, Wanhua Chemical (Fujian), Xiamen Tungsten, Fuyao Glass, Tsingshan Group, Zijin Mining Group, Highsun Group, and Eversun Group. Leveraging the driving role of these leading enterprises, Fujian has established a number of distinctive new materials clusters with certain influence domestically and internationally, focusing on optoelectronic information materials, advanced chemical materials, new energy materials, advanced non-ferrous metal materials, rare earth new materials, stainless steel, and advanced textile functional materials. 4 industrial clusters have been selected as national-level characteristic clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises: the Fuzhou Changle Textile New Materials Cluster, the Shaowu Fluorine New Materials Cluster, the Jinjiang Sports Shoes Raw and Auxiliary Materials Cluster, and the Wuping Display Module and Material Manufacturing Cluster. The Ningde Wanwu Stainless Steel Industrial Park has been recognized as a national-level new industrialization demonstration base.
Highlighting refined and deep processing and high value-added applications, Fujian will make breakthroughs in core technologies, especially those of key strategic materials, in order to bolster its advanced basic materials and improve the supporting capacity of new materials.

Prioritize high-end equipment special alloys such as high-temperature and corrosion-resistant alloys, high-strength lightweight alloys, high-performance metal rubber, and materials such as graphene and polymer additive manufacturing materials for metals. Accelerate the production of national strategic emerging industry clusters of new functional materials in Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Putian, aiming to establish national-level new materials clusters. Speed up the construction of graphene industrial parks in Sanming, Quanzhou, and Xiamen to establish a national high-end graphene industry base.
