In 2025, Fujian Province had 501 above-designated-size metallurgical enterprises, achieving an operating revenue of RMB 774.28 billion, a growth of 4.3%. Industries like steel, aluminum, copper, and tungsten have largely formed a development pattern driven by leading enterprises. They are mainly distributed in Ningde, Longyan, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and Sanming. Enterprises such as Tsingshan Group, Zijin Mining Group, Fujian Great Donghai Corporation, Sansteel Group, Sanbao Group, Xiamen Tungsten, Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel, China Copper Southeast Copper, Nanping Aluminum, Hongwang, and Yongjin have revenues exceeding RMB 10 billion. Fujian's advantageous metallurgical products hold significant positions domestically. Production of stainless steel, tungsten processed materials, and cathode materials for consumer electronic lithium batteries ranks first nationwide. The quality of products like ultra-fine grain cemented carbide rods, double-zero aluminum foil, and high-performance rare earth magnetic materials reaches internationally advanced levels. The output value of high-value-added products such as cold-rolled thin steel sheets, stainless steel plates and strips, aluminum profiles for IT products, special-purpose pipe fittings, and precision accessories accounts for over 40% of the province's total, with product quality reaching internationally advanced levels.

Development Orientation

With an emphasis on green and clustered development, Fujian will expand the application of energy-saving and consumption-reducing technologies, promote product restructuring and deep processing, and mainly develop high-end steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metals products. By 2025, volumes in the province’s metallurgical industry will reach a value of RMB 710 billion.

Mingxi has an abundant reserve of silver metal ores. A highly promosing 10,000t/a silver soldering flux production project will be attracted. Estimated investment of RMB 150 million.

Gold and jewelry processing enterprises will be attracted to process over 20t gold and jewelry products per year. An integrated industrial park with gold and jewelry R&D, processing, trading, logistics, distribution and park administration will be completed. Estimated investment of RMB 2 billion.

Preferentially attract steel-making enterprises to produce high-strength and highly anti-corrosive special-purpose steels for shipbuilding and marine engineering. Estimated investment of RMB 3.14 billion.

Refined copper thread processing enterprises will be attracted to establish a production capacity of 50,000t ultrafine copper conductor products. Estimated investment of 1.85 billion.

Rely on the Phase II copper smelting project of Chinalco to attract PCB (printed circuit board), radiator, transformer, auto part and other downstream deep-processing projects of copper industry. Estimated investment of RMB 10 billion.

Attract middle and down-stream refined and deep-processing enterprises and advanced equipment and technology for production of energy-efficient stainless steels, stainless steel with special specifications and different surface treatments, high-gauge thick-wall special-purpose seamless stainless steel pipes, stainless steel hardware, pipe fittings, etc. Estimated investment of RMB 1 billion.

Produce and supply industrial aluminium and accessories, solar profile bars, production line aluminum profile bars, aluminum pipe profile bars, casing of aluminum profile bars, cylinder profile bars, radiator aluminum profile bars, etc. Estimate investment of RMB 500 million.

Attract middle and down-stream deep-processing and high-end cold-rolling projects of full-sries stainless steel products. Estimated investment of RMB 1.2 billion.
