It plans to introduce:1. New packaging materials, safe, green and environmentally-friendly packaging materials and their products, such as bio-based degradable plastics, biodegradable paper (bio-fiber materials), recycled paper, new coated iron materials, food-grade new materials, etc. 2. New materials for thermal insulation, such as vacuum insulation panels, nanoporous insulation materials (aerogel felt), radiation insulation materials, etc. 3. Application of new household materials, such as high-performance composite materials (such as carbon fiber composite materials), new ceramic materials, special engineering plastics, etc. 4. Application of new materials for electronics/home appliances, such as engineering-modified plastics, energy-efficient and noise-reducing functional materials, environmentally-friendly new materials (mildew resistant materials, low VOC volatile materials), environmentally friendly adsorption materials).

Fujian leverages its resource advantages to vigorously develop new energy and renewable energy, focusing on building a significant energy base along the southeastern coast and constructing a diversified clean energy supply system of “hydro, nuclear, wind, solar, gas, and storage.” By the end of 2025, installed capacity for offshore wind power reached 3.83 million kilowatts, with wind energy utilization hours ranking first nationwide for 12 consecutive years. As of the end of 2025, Fujian's power generation installed capacity exceeded 100 million kilowatts for the first time, reaching 100.49 million kilowatts. The proportion of clean energy installed capacity and generation in Fujian reached 65.8% and 57.5%, respectively, both ranking first in East China. Renewable energy has long maintained full consumption. The Fujian Three Gorges Wind Power International Industrial Park became the first industrial park in China to achieve “carbon neutrality.”
The development of Fujian's new materials industry is accelerating, with increasing industrial clustering effects, gradual improvement of the innovation system, and continuous enrichment of new material varieties. A group of leading backbone enterprises has been cultivated, including CATL, San'an Optoelectronics, Wanhua Chemical (Fujian), Xiamen Tungsten, Fuyao Glass, Tsingshan Group, Zijin Mining Group, Highsun Group, and Eversun Group. Leveraging the driving role of these leading enterprises, Fujian has established a number of distinctive new materials clusters with certain influence domestically and internationally, focusing on optoelectronic information materials, advanced chemical materials, new energy materials, advanced non-ferrous metal materials, rare earth new materials, stainless steel, and advanced textile functional materials. 4 industrial clusters have been selected as national-level characteristic clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises: the Fuzhou Changle Textile New Materials Cluster, the Shaowu Fluorine New Materials Cluster, the Jinjiang Sports Shoes Raw and Auxiliary Materials Cluster, and the Wuping Display Module and Material Manufacturing Cluster. The Ningde Wanwu Stainless Steel Industrial Park has been recognized as a national-level new industrialization demonstration base.
