On the afternoon of April 15, Huang Heming, Director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce, met with Wang Qiang, Vice President of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) & President of Greater China, along with his delegation. Officials from the Department’s West Asia & Africa Division and the Development Zone Administration also attended the meeting.

The two sides held in-depth talks on Fujian–Saudi economic and trade cooperation, as well as energy and petrochemical cooperation under the current situation.

Huang suggested SABIC fully tap Fujian’s advantages in location, policies, and industry to speed up construction of its existing projects in the province, further expand the scope and scale of its investment in Fujian, bring upstream and downstream partners to invest and operate in Fujian, and help Fujian’s high-quality petrochemical products reach international markets.

Wang praised Fujian’s business environment and the support from the province’s commerce authorities, and said SABIC will stay committed to investing in Fujian, taking root here, and deepening its operations in the province.

From now on, the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce said it will step up coordination with SABIC and continue providing services for SABIC’s investment projects in Fujian.
