The Putian Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, in coordination with the Putian Municipal Commerce Bureau and Administration for Market Regulation of Putian City, announced on January 4 the selection of 16 local footwear manufacturers for the city’s 2025 Brand Development Program. Following a process involving voluntary applications, county/district-level department evaluations & recommendations, expert assessments, and public review, the final list includes 6 enterprises designated as priority development targets with a three-year development timeline.

Selected companies will benefit from Putian’s footwear industry support policies from Several Measures to Support High‑Quality Development of the Shoe Industry, which provides financial incentives for brand-building activities such as marketing, proprietary mold production, third‑party industrial design services, intellectual property development, and testing/certification, offering 20% reimbursement on annual costs up to RMB 500,000. The program also supports strategic acquisitions, mergers, and reorganizations of internationally renowned brands, granting a 3% subsidy on preliminary expenses for international brand acquisition exceeding RMB 50 million, with a maximum subsidy of RMB 2 million. Additionally, distressed brands undergoing successful restructuring may receive 50% preliminary cost coverage, capped at RMB 500,000.
