Recently, the Industry and Information Technology Department of Fujian released a list of 343 new provincial-level small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) that use specialized and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, with 164 Fuzhou-based enterprises—including Fujian Tucsen Photonics Co., Ltd., Fujian Kelai’an Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., and Fujian Xinshili Technology Co., Ltd.—making the cut. These firms span high-end equipment, digital economy, and green technology sectors.

In recent years, Fuzhou has prioritized the development of such SMEs, rolling out Several Measures of Fuzhou City to Support the High-Quality Development of SMEs With Specialized and Sophisticated Technologies For Novel and Unique Products. The city has intensified policy outreach, established a robust service system, and implemented a tiered development framework—ranging from Innovative SMEs, SMEs With Specialized and Sophisticated Technologies For Novel and Unique Products, “Little Giant” Enterprises With Specialized and Sophisticated Technologies For Novel and Unique Products, Single-Item Manufacturing Champion, to industry leaders—under the principle of “reserve a batch, develop a batch, elevate a batch”. This strategy aims to enhance new quality productive forces, advance new industrialization, and fuel the development of a modern international city.
