On January 5, Fujian Governor Zhao Long presided over a symposium for private enterprises, earnestly implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference, carrying out the plans of the 9th plenary session of the 11th CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, the provincial economic work conference by CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, and the provincial conference on optimizing the business climate. The symposium brought together executives from 19 companies to gather feedback on economic and social development, high-quality private sector development, business environment optimization, and the 15th Five-Year Plan. Provincial leaders Wang Yongli and Lin Ruiliang attended the discussions.

During the lively exchange, business leaders proposed recommendations on expanding consumption, stimulating domestic demand, building industrial clusters, facilitating international expansion, strengthening intellectual property protection, enhancing financial and talent support, boosting employment, and assisting small and medium-sized enterprises. The participating companies included CATL, Fuyao Glass, Zhongjing Petrochemical, Yonghui Superstores, Sunner Group, Bama Tea, SanShu Paint, Zongteng Group, Tasiting, Dongbai Group, DDC Logistics Technology, Fukang Pharmaceuticals, Autogyro, Yangzhu New Materials, Shijianhai Guesthouses, Zhufugui Seafood Hotpot, Panpan Foods, Tianjiao Lady & Baby's Hygiene Supply, and Hong Dong Pelagic Fishery.

Zhao Long listened attentively and periodically engaged in in-depth exchanges on issues of concern to enterprises, directing relevant departments to thoroughly sort out, incorporate, and actively support enterprises’ requests and suggestions. He pointed out that the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee has made arrangements for the “15th Five-Year Plan” and this year’s work. The overarching goal is to stay firmly committed to the vision of building a new Fujian characterized by vibrant mechanisms, upgraded industries, well-being for the people, and a beautiful ecology. We should follow the blueprint to the end, promote high-quality development in all respects, and strive to position Fujian at the forefront of China’s modernization drive. Reaffirming the need to conscientiously implement President Xi Jinping’s important speeches, instructions, and directives on Fujian’s work, Governor Zhao urged participants to earnestly align their thinking and actions with the CPC Central Committee's and the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee’s scientific judgments on the situation, be adept at using a historical perspective to understand development laws, further strengthen confidence, make good use of advantages, meet challenges, unswervingly do their own work well, become better versions of themselves, and help enterprises contribute to the overall progress of the economy and society.

The governor stressed that government agencies must uphold the “two unshakable” principle and fully implement the Private Economy Promotion Law by serving as effective facilitators to create even better conditions for the healthy and high-quality development of the private sector. He called for more forward-looking, targeted, and coordinated policies, with strengthened publicity and interpretation efforts, and for all policies to be delivered directly and quickly, accessible without application, and fully available to all eligible recipients. All-out efforts must be made to help enterprises overcome difficulties and resolve problems, adopt customized assistance addressing both individual enterprise challenges and industry-wide concerns, support large enterprises stand tall and lead the way, and enable small and medium-sized enterprises to grow robustly. Efforts should focus on eliminating market barriers, dynamically clearing policy measures that hinder a unified market and fair competition, and balancing market forces in resource allocation with government oversight. The governor stressed the importance of creating a first-class business environment, adhering to the principle of focusing on what the government should do and refraining from what it should not do. He called for the thorough implementation of the “four smooth and timely services” mechanism for enterprises and also emphasized improving regular communication mechanisms between the government and enterprises, protecting the lawful rights and interests of market entities in accordance with the law, and building a new type of government–business relationship that is both close and clean, under a unified standard.

Governor Zhao Long encouraged entrepreneurs to remain focused on their core businesses, strengthen their industrial operations, and embrace innovation. He called on them to uphold green and low-carbon development principles, engage in fair competition, and actively promote positive values. Emphasizing the importance of patriotism, Zhao urged business leaders to exemplify dedication to their work, lawful operations, entrepreneurial spirit, and social responsibility. He highlighted their crucial role in driving high-quality development and achieving common prosperity, urging them to become models of corporate citizenship that contribute meaningfully to society.
