On December 27, Cui Yonghui, Secretary of CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, chaired a symposium with machinery equipment enterprises, engaging in in-depth discussions with industry representatives, entrepreneurs, and experts. The symposium focused on analyzing development trends, gathering insights, and exploring strategies to advance the sector’s transformation, upgrading, and growth.

Based on enterprise and industry development and industry trends, 13 entrepreneurs and experts shared practical concerns and proposals, addressing skilled talent recruitment, policy support, industrial chain coordination, and technological upgrading. Secretary Cui actively engaged with participants and attentively responded to their input, acknowledging the value of their insightful suggestions for sector-specific development, the broader manufacturing upgrade, and the continued optimization of the business environment. He pledged to review these inputs systematically, provide timely feedback, and convert them into actionable measures for Xiamen’s better business environment and more opportunities.

　　Cui gave full recognition to the sector’s significant contributions to Xiamen’s socio-economic development, noting its pivotal role as a foundational and vital industry of the economy and the manufacturing system. As one of Xiamen’s key pillars for development, Xiamen’s machinery equipment sector, characterized by distinct advantages, hosts a cluster of enterprises that use specialized and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, as well as “single-item champions” and “hidden champions” in niche segments with leading technologies. Despite challenges, the sector has maintained robust growth this year, demonstrating resilience and vitality while underpinning the city’s development and the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation.

　　Cui emphasized that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Xiamen prioritizes building a modern industrial system anchored by advanced manufacturing, with machinery equipment as a key pillar. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan, the city will continue centering on the real economy, driving industrial upgrades through technological innovation, pursuing high-end, smart, and green development, and striving to make the machinery equipment industry stronger, better, and larger. The CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and Xiamen Municipal People’s Government will continue to develop a world-class business environment, tailor policy incentives to enterprise needs, and provide lifecycle support in talent, funding, and land resources to facilitate technological breakthroughs, market expansion, investment promotion, and capacity boost so that enterprises can achieve higher-level, higher-quality growth.
