On October 16, the Maritime Innovation Five-Chain Integration Achievement Matchmaking Conference took place at the Straits International Convention and Exhibition Center. Attendees included Guo Ningning, Deputy Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee; Mai Kangsen, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering; Wu Xiande, Mayor of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government; Qin Hailin, Chief Engineer of the China Center for Information Industry Development; and Fu Shixiao, Academician of Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences and Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, among others.

During the conference, a handbook detailing the achievements of the Marine Innovation “Five-Chain Integration” Promotion Activities was unveiled. These activities followed a “problem-solving” approach—where industrial chain entities address real-world challenges from demand enterprises. An expert panel led by academicians evaluated the projects, with over 50 outstanding projects in areas such as marine intelligent equipment, deep-sea and far-sea aquaculture equipment, and ocean-going fishing equipment being recognized. These projects effectively addressed industry needs and provided robust support for the high-quality development of the marine equipment industry. A signing ceremony for investment projects was also conducted, resulting in 24 projects being signed with a total investment of 13.182 billion yuan. These projects span modern marine fisheries, shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment, and port-adjacent industries. They are expected to significantly advance the strengthening, extension, and supplementation of the marine economy industrial chain in Fuzhou, injecting strong momentum into building a more competitive modern marine system.

Prior to the conference, Guo Ningning, Wu Xiande, and others visited an exhibition showcasing innovative achievements from the Marine Innovation “Five-Chain Integration” Promotion Activities. They explored innovative technologies and solutions in maritime equipment, emphasizing the need to fully leverage the platform advantages of the World Maritime Equipment Conference. They stressed the importance of strengthening resource matching and industrial cooperation, promoting the deep integration of the innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain, talent chain, and information chain, cultivating and expanding new quality productive forces in the marine sector, and accelerating the construction of a national demonstration zone for marine economic development.
