On August 1, a financial capital and industry matchmaking conference (special session for Taiwanese entrepreneurs and enterprises) was held in Fuzhou. The conference was attended by Xue Hefeng, Deputy Director in charge of daily works at the Financial Office of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee; Liu Depei, Deputy Director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce; and Zheng Qing, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Fujian Financial Investment Co., Ltd. Xie Jianchao, full-time Deputy Secretary of the Financial Work Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, also attended and delivered a speech.

Jointly organized by the Financial Office of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce, and Fujian Financial Investment Co., Ltd., the conference aimed to thoroughly study and implement the key speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Fujian, as well as his important statements on Taiwan-related work. The conference sought to further implement the principle of equal treatment for Taiwan compatriots and enterprises, enhance the quality and efficiency of financial services for them, and support the development of a cross-strait integration demonstration zone. The matchmaking conference attracted nearly 30 financial institutions and was attended by almost 100 representatives from Taiwanese-invested enterprises in Fujian.

During the conference, the Fujian Branch of the People’s Bank of China explained the Measures on Financial Support for Fujian to Explore New Paths for Integrated Cross-Strait Development and Build a Demonstration Zone for Cross-Strait Integration. 6 Taiwanese-invested enterprises shared their development experiences in Fujian, while 6 financial institutions introduced their services for Taiwanese entrepreneurs and enterprises. In addition, 16 Taiwanese enterprises signed project financing intent agreements with financial institutions. Participating Taiwanese enterprises also engaged in in-depth discussions with financial institutions to seek customized financing and tailored solutions for their individual needs.

In mainland China, Fujian features the highest concentration of Taiwanese-invested enterprises and the closest cross-strait exchanges and cooperation across various fields. By the end of 2024, Fujian was home to more than 13,000 Taiwanese-invested enterprises, with the total actual use of Taiwanese capital exceeding USD 33 billion (including reinvestment through third locations). The Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce will continue to promote integration through connectivity, mutual benefits, and emotional bonds, and will continue to carry out the practical initiative of “delivering tangible services for Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises”. The department will guide Taiwanese enterprises in making full use of preferential policies, ensuring that more Taiwanese entrepreneurs and enterprises are willing to come, able to stay, integrate well, and thrive in Fujian.
