The 2024 list of China's top 500 energy companies was recently unveiled, highlighting Xiamen Tungsten New Energy, Hithium Energy Storage, and Kehua Digital Energy, which ranked 216th, 277th, and 302nd, respectively. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) from Fujian leads the region and ranks 14th on the Fortune Global 500 list. Companies such as CALB and Shengxin Lithium Energy, with subsidiaries in Xiamen, are also featured on this list.
The three Xiamen-based companies are leaders in their respective sectors. Xiamen Tungsten New Energy specializes in the research, production, and sales of new energy materials, operating five major production bases in Haicang, Jinglu, Sanming, Ningde, and Ya'an, while actively expanding its overseas production capacity. Established in 2019, Hithium Energy Storage focuses on the research and production of energy storage batteries and systems. By October 2024, it had shipped over 40 GWh of energy storage cells worldwide. Kehua Data, the parent company of Kehua Digital Energy, utilizes its core power electronics technology and integrates innovative digital solutions to offer comprehensive services for data centers, high-end power supplies, and clean energy, serving customers in over 100 countries and regions globally.
The list indicates that the total revenue of the top 500 companies continues to rise, reaching 33.42 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.95 trillion yuan from the previous year, marking a year-on-year growth of 2.94%. The State Grid Corporation of China has maintained the top position for three consecutive years, followed closely by China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and China National Petroleum Corporation.
