Since 2018, the Digital China Summit has been held in Fujian for seven consecutive years, bringing new development opportunities to Fujian's digital economy. Fujian has consistently taken the lead in digital Fujian development, actively fostering the market for data elements, and advancing the digital economy to comprehensively empower various sectors. However, the development of the digital economy in Fujian still faces challenges, such as the insufficient supply of new infrastructure and a lack of diverse application scenarios for digital technology.
In response, Mr. Ke Zhiwen, a member of the Fujian Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of Fujian Dianjing Technology Co., Ltd., suggested accelerating the development of new infrastructure such as 5G, big data, and the industrial internet. He emphasized the need to address weaknesses in the industry's foundational capabilities and to establish an independent and reliable digital industrial supply chain. Mr. Ke also highlighted the importance of focusing on integrated circuits and foundational software as key industries, while actively fostering emerging sectors such as blockchain and quantum communication. He also called for the cultivation of iconic digital economy leaders and unicorn companies in Fujian, the continuous attraction of nationally influential digital leaders, and the creation of a digital economy industrial cluster in Fujian to drive the coordinated development of the regional digital economy.
In addition, industrial digitization is a key aspect of developing the digital economy. It is essential to provide technical guidance for the transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises and to continually expand the integration of digital technology with the service industry in both breadth and depth. We should leverage Fujian's geographical advantages as a coastal province and deeply integrate digital technology into the marine economy to create smart fisheries. At the same time, we should draw on the development and operational experience of the Shanghai Data Exchange to improve the operating mechanisms and processes of the Fujian Big Data Exchange. We will also enhance cooperation with countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road in digital development. This includes establishing data convergence nodes for the Maritime Silk Road and cross-strait data integration nodes between Fujian and Taiwan. By doing so, we can further strengthen, optimize, and expand Fujian's digital economy, thereby promoting high-quality economic development in Fujian.
