Fujian Province's actual utilization of foreign investment from January to July registered 3.37 billion yuan, up by 5.7% year-on-year, accomplishing 64.3% of the annual target and exceeding the sequential progress by 6 percentage points.

The high-tech industry and the manufacturing industry continued to attract foreign investment

The actual utilization of foreign investment in the high-tech industry grew by 47.3%, accounting for 33.3% of the province; among which the actual utilization of foreign investment in the high-tech service industry was up by 124%. The actual utilization of foreign investment in the manufacturing industry was up by 28.8%, accounting for 28.3% of the province. Among which the actual utilization of foreign investment in the petrochemical industry increased by 568.4% and that of the machinery and equipment industry by 75.7%.

Some countries and regions have stepped up investment in Fujian

Investment from the BRI countries and regions in Fujian grew by 100.7%, with that from the ASEAN and members of the RCEP increasing by 70.4% and 14.6% respectively. Among major developed countries and regions, the actual investment from the United States increased by 499.4% and that of Europe by 53%.

The pilot free trade zone made prominent progress in attracting foreign investment

The actual utilization of foreign investment in the pilot free trade zone grew by 87.5%. Among which, Xiamen area increased by 82.7% and Fuzhou area by 122.3%.

Solid progress has been made in key projects

Two new enterprises invested by two Fortune Global 500 corporations had been established in Fujian Province, include Fujian Sinopec SABIC Petrochemical Company Limited invested by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Cathay Da'an (Xiamen) Equity Investment Fund Partnership invested by CMA CGM of France. Totally 81 enterprises of the province have received foreign investment of over 10 million USD, with the amount of foreign investment accounting for more than 80% of the province.
