Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a list of typical cases of national new data centers in 2021, and the Digital Fujian Cloud Computing Data Center was selected as the only data center in Fujian Province included in this list.
The new data center, a new type of infrastructure characterized by high technology, high computing power, high energy efficiency and high security, oriented to support the digital transformation, intelligent upgrading and integrated innovation of the economy and society, and driven by the application needs of 5G, industrial internet, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, gathers multiple data resources, uses green and low-carbon technologies, has safe and reliable capabilities, provides efficient arithmetic services, and enables applications in thousands of industries.
Digital Fujian Cloud Computing Data Center was put into operation in 2017 and was designed and built according to standards of the international T4 grade, with nearly 5,000 cabinets and a capacity of 40,000 servers. The center has been selected among the few data centers located in the hot and humid southern region as a National Green Data Center in 2020, by making comprehensive use of automated and intelligent management tools and focusing on improving the efficiency of power utilization and renewable resource utilization in data center operations.
It is learned that the center’s operator, Digital Fujian Cloud Computing Operation Co. Ltd., is starting the construction of Fujian Supercomputing Center (Phase III), which will provide a computing capacity of 13 quadrillion times/second upon completion.
