Recently, Fujian Provincial People's Government has released "Fujian Province's Special Plan for the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries During the 14th Five-Year Plan" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"). The Plan has clarified the key development areas of the province's strategic emerging industries during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Sanming City's 7 industry clusters, 8 industrial parks and 4 innovation platforms have been successfully included in the "Plan", which will contribute "Sanming power" to the province's development of strategic emerging industries.

Among Sanming City's 7 industry clusters being included in the "Plan", its five advantageous industries of high-end equipment, fluorine new material, graphite and graphene, rare-earth new material, and biomedicine were all included in key development industries. New energy vehicles and lithium battery energy storage were regarded as key industries under nurturing. The 8 industrial parks being included in the "Plan" are Zhongguancun Science and Technology Industrial Park, Shaxian High-end Equipment Industrial Park, Quansan High-end Equipment Industrial Park, Puling Automobile Industrial Park, Fluorine New Material Industrial Park, Yong'an Graphite Industrial Park, Rare-earth Industrial Park, and Jinshayuan Biomedicine Industrial Park. The above key industrial parks being included in the "Plan" will become important carriers of Sanming City's development of strategic emerging industries during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. The 4 innovation platforms, Haixi Institute of China Academy of Machinery Science & Technology, Institute of Fluorochemical Industry, Sanming Rice Seed Base of China, and Jiangle Sanming Semiconductor Crystal Research Center, were simultaneously included in the "Plan". The platform R&D field has been recognized as an orientation for critical breakthrough in science and technology innovation, which will provide strong innovation support for industrial development.

In the next stage, Sanming City will ensure alignment and implementation of the Plan, constantly enlarge industry clusters, optimize industrial parks, strengthen innovation platforms, and strive for new advantages of modern industrial system dependent on key projects, industry clusters, supportive policies, special funds and innovation platforms, extending Sanming City's high-quality development to a new level.
