The National Development and Reform Commission recently announced the results of the National Urban Business Environment Evaluation, in which Quanzhou was awarded the national benchmark city for its fruitful work in the creation, protection and use of intellectual property rights.

At the end of September, an application for a utility model patent was submitted by a machinery limited company from Anxi County, Quanzhou City, Fujian. The company was authorized just 6 days after it passed the preliminary review and handed in its application to the State Intellectual Property Office.

This is the first patent application of Quanzhou that has been authorized through the fast pre-examination channel of the Protection Center after China (Quanzhou) Intellectual Property Protection Center passed the acceptance check in August. As introduced by the relevant person in charge of Quanzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center, "After the center is put into operation, the patent applications that have been pre-examined by it can directly enter the fast examination channel of the State Intellectual Property Office, and the examination period can be greatly reduced by more than 80%."

Establish "Jinjiang (Footwear, Clothing and Food) Intellectual Property Right Protection Center of China", and form a green channel for "quick authorization, fast confirmation, and fast protection of intellectual property rights" through building a comprehensive intellectual property service platform in Jinjiang county, Quanzhou City, Fujian. Build Quanzhou Semiconductor High-tech Industrial Park and the subdivision of the Intellectual Property Protection Center in Nan’an. Such efforts can help resolve problems such as the difficulty of collecting evidence for protecting intellectual property rights, long period length and high cost. With China (Quanzhou) Intellectual Property Protection Center as the core, Quanzhou City built multiple intellectual property protection centers in line with the needs of industrial development last year. In April this year, the Fujian Provincial Ceramic Intellectual Property Operation & Protection Center was inaugurated in Dehua, which has further improved the intellectual property operation & protection system of the ceramic industry in Dehua County, Quanzhou City, Fujian.
