On June 6, Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People’s Congress, met with Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of Thailand’s Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), and his delegation in Fuzhou. Zhao Long, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Governor of Fujian Province, and Guo Ningning, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, attended the meeting.

On behalf of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Fujian Provincial People's Government, Zhou Zuyi welcomed Dhanin Chearavanont and his delegation for their visit to Fujian. After briefly introducing the basic provincial conditions of Fujian, Zhou Zuyi stated that in recent years, Fujian has thoroughly implemented the important speeches and directives of President Xi Jinping regarding Fujian’s work, and has fully advanced the construction of a “New Fujian” characterized by dynamic mechanisms, advanced industries, prosperous people, and a beautiful environment. The province has maintained a sound momentum in economic and social development. These achievements would not have been possible without the strong support of overseas Chinese compatriots and businesspeople, for which we express our sincere gratitude. During the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, Fujian will adhere to the direction of intelligent, green, and integrated development, building a modern industrial system with deep integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. It is hoped that both sides will further strengthen cooperation in areas such as smart agriculture, green farming, and deep processing of agricultural products on the basis of existing sound cooperation, achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Zhou Zuyi also expressed the hope that Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont would leverage his influence within the overseas Chinese community to actively build bridges and attract more overseas Chinese businesspeople to invest and start businesses in Fujian, sharing business opportunities. Fujian will play a “new card” for overseas Chinese in the new era, providing high-quality services and fostering a favorable environment.

Dhanin Chearavanont thanked the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Fujian Provincial People’s Government for their care and support for the development of CP Group, and briefed them on the group’s situation and its layout plans in Fujian. He stated that CP Group is full of confidence in Fujian’s development prospects. In the next phase, the group will continue to expand its investment and industrial scale in Fujian, drive industrial innovation through technological innovation, assist in the integration of local primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, help more farmers achieve common prosperity, and contribute to Fujian’s development.
