Recently, the CCID Consulting New Materials Industry Research Center released the 2025 High-Quality Development of Chemical Industry Parks report, along with the announcement of the 2025 Top 100 Chemical Industry Parks Comprehensive Competitiveness List in China. Among them, the Fuzhou Kemen Port Economic Zone Chemical New Materials Industrial Park has been named among the Top 100 list.
The Kemen Port Economic Zone Chemical New Materials Industrial Park gained official recognition as a chemical park (chemical concentration area) in January 2021, following a joint evaluation led by the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. It's among the first chemical parks to receive such recognition in Fujian Province. Currently, the park hosts 18 chemical companies, with 14 already operational and 4 under construction. In 2024, the total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size reached RMB 47.397 billion, marking a 12.98% increase. In the first half of 2025, this value hit RMB 22.678 billion. Thanks to its comprehensive industry chain layout and high-end development strategy, the park has become a promising new cluster in Fujian Province's chemical industry scene.
Chemical industrial parks are key hubs for the sector's growth, providing crucial platforms for the clustered development of businesses. The 2025 Top 100 Chemical Industry Parks Comprehensive Competitiveness Research and Evaluation System evaluates parks based on four dimensions: industrial foundation, industrial innovation, industrial potential, and industrial transformation. This system uses 13 secondary indicators—like scale strength, enterprise strength, industrial support, innovation entities, innovation platforms, and innovation achievements—and 28 tertiary indicators. The goal is to assess the current state and future potential of these parks, steering them toward high-quality development.
