The 2025 International Investment Forum · Future Investment Conference Held in Xiamen
On September 8, the 2025 International Investment Forum · Future Investment Conference was held in Xiamen. Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev attended the event. Keynote speeches were delivered by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol and Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev. Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, attended and delivered a speech. Zhao Long, Deputy Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Fujian Province, was present.
Zhou Zuyi pointed out that since its inception, the International Investment Forum has consistently received the attention and support of President Xi Jinping. Over the past 25 years, it has grown into an influential and important platform in the global investment field. The newly established "Future Investment Conference" at this edition of the forum, with the theme of investing in a sustainable future, echoes the international community’s shared pursuit of green, inclusive, and sustainable development. It is of great significance in promoting the stable and resilient growth of global investment.
Zhou Zuyi stated that Fujian is a key province in China’s reform and opening-up and a fertile ground for foreign investment and business development. Fujian will keep President Xi’s instructions firmly in mind, vigorously promote the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, develop new quality productive forces according to local conditions, and continuously shape new drivers and advantages for future development. We will strengthen scientific and technological innovation, advance breakthroughs in key core technologies, and enhance the development of high-level sci-tech innovation platforms to steadily boost momentum for future development. We will solidly advance the construction of a modern industrial system, promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, foster and expand emerging industries, and make forward-looking plans for future industries, thereby continuously strengthening support for future development. We will also vigorously promote green and low-carbon development, coordinatedly advance carbon reduction, pollution control, greening, and economic growth, and further consolidate the foundation for sustainable future development. Fujian will steadily expand institutional opening-up, continue to deepen the reform of the foreign investment management system, and create a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, internationalized, and convenient, enabling everyone to invest with confidence, operate with peace of mind, and develop comfortably in Fujian, and jointly create a better future.
Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy International Trade Representative of China, and Pedro Manuel Moreno, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), delivered speeches at the forum. The forum was chaired by Li Nan, Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (UN SSE).
Provincial leaders Cui Yonghui, Li Jiancheng, and Wang Jinfu attended the event. Responsible officials from relevant national ministries and commissions, representatives of international organizations, multinational companies, and other domestic and foreign institutions were also present.
