According to a press conference held by the Information Office, Fujian Provincial People’s Government on June 5, the 8th World Fujian-Origin Entrepreneurs Conference is scheduled to be held in Fuzhou on June 18, coinciding with the 23rd China Straits Innovation and Projects Fair.

Held every three years, the World Fujian-Origin Entrepreneurs Conference has been successfully organized seven times, serving as a major platform to promote Fujian-origin entrepreneurship, unite Fujian-origin entrepreneurs both domestically and internationally, enhance openness, strengthen networking, attract investment, facilitate project matchmaking, and foster cooperation among business associations—all aimed at driving high-quality development in Fujian. This year’s conference, themed "Gathering Fujian Strength, Striving Together for Excellence", is co-hosted by the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Fujian Provincial People's Government, and the China Overseas Friendship Association. It will feature a range of activities, including the Global Next-Generation Fujian Entrepreneurs Conference, the Fujian Investment Promotion Conference, the Fujian Financial Empowerment Matchmaking for New-Quality Productive Forces, alongside field visits under the “Global Fujian Entrepreneurs Tour” initiative. In addition, the Fujian Provincial People's Government will also honor a number of “Outstanding Contributors to Fujian’s Non-Public Sector Economy”.

Preparations for the Conference are progressing smoothly as scheduled. The organizing committee has extended invitations to Fujian chambers of commerce in countries and regions with significant Fujian populations, as well as to associations in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, other provinces, prominent Fujian entrepreneurs, and the new generation of Fujian entrepreneurs. Fujian entrepreneurs worldwide have shown strong interest in participating, responding enthusiastically to the invitations. Approximately 1,600 attendees are expected, including about 400 from overseas, representing major countries across five continents where Fujianese communities are concentrated. Participants will include leaders of Chinese business enterprises and chambers of commerce, representatives of the new generation of overseas Chinese and Chinese descendants, individuals who have played a bridging role in Fujian’s international economic and trade relations, and those who have contributed to the development of harmonious overseas Chinese communities.

Another highlight of this year's conference will be its deep integration with the 23rd China Straits Innovation and Projects Fair. Themed “Technological Innovation Empowers Industrial Innovation”, the fair will feature both offline exhibitions and an online cloud platform, along with more than 10 project matchmaking events. The offline exhibition will include dedicated sections for Technological Innovation and Industrial Innovation, while the online cloud platform will introduce a five-in-one innovative service model that combines 3D displays, product showcases, project presentations, matchmaking talks, and demand matching. By leveraging smart matching technology, it will showcase high-quality research achievements and technological needs from universities and enterprises.

During the conference and the fair, Fujian-origin entrepreneurs from home and abroad will engage in major economic and trade activities. They will collaborate with academicians, experts, universities, and research institutions to explore technological breakthroughs, while also discussing ways to further integrate technological and industrial innovation with state-owned enterprises, including those backed by the central government.
