The China (Fujian) Argentina Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference was held in Buenos Aires on April 9, attracting more than 200 participants from relevant government authorities, associations, and businesses from both China and Argentina.

In his keynote speech, Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, highlighted the potential and opportunities for investment and entrepreneurship in Fujian, from the perspectives of the provinces favorable timing, advantageous location, and harmonious human resources. He expressed his sincere hope that participants would visit Fujian, learn more about the province, choose Fujian as a partner, and further deepen exchanges and cooperation with it.

Wang Xiaoxu, Chargé dAffaires at the Chinese Embassy in Argentina, emphasized that regional cooperation is a vital component of China-Argentina relations. He noted that Argentina is endowed with abundant natural resources and possesses a well-developed industrial structure. Fujian Province, he added, is at the forefront of Chinas reform and opening-up, making it one of the countrys most economically developed regions. As a core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Fujian offers attractive investment policies and a favorable business environment. Wang expressed hope that companies in Fujian will continue to uphold a spirit of pragmatic cooperation, working together with Argentine enterprises to explore new opportunities. He said that, through joint efforts, China-Argentina economic and trade cooperation can be further expanded and strengthened.

Governor Raúl Alejandro Jalil of Catamarca, Argentina, stated in his speech that for many families in Catamarca, leaving their hometowns has long been a reality. Young people have been forced to move elsewhere to make a living, as opportunities for development often seemed to exist only outside the province. However, Chinese investment has changed this situation, with Chinese companies creating numerous job opportunities for the local community. Today, young people and their families in Catamarca can finally find employment at home, opportunities they once had to seek far away.

Governor Claudio Vidal of Santa Cruz, Argentina, expressed that interprovincial cooperation between Argentina and China serves the mutual interests of both nations and brings benefits to Santa Cruz Province as well as the country as a whole. He expressed hope that this collaboration will further enhance local well-being, boost industrial production, and improve the efficiency of resource development in the future.

During the event, the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission presented the investment environment of Fujian Province, while the Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government highlighted the business climate of Fuzhou City. A signing ceremony for economic and trade cooperation projects was also held, with agreements for a total of 15 projects signed on-site.
