The reporter has learned from Fuzhou and Xiamen Customs that on the 5th, the Fujian Province added 20 new customs “AEO” certified enterprises in 2023. Out of the 20, 14 are located in the Xiamen Customs District and 6 are in the Fuzhou Customs District. Currently, 179 enterprises in Fujian Province have obtained "AEO" authorization, with 120 of them being manufacturing enterprises, accounting for 67.04% of the total.
AEO, short for Authorized Economic Operator, is a system promoted by the World Customs Organization. It is a certification conducted by customs for enterprises with good credit status, law-abiding behavior, and effective security management. Enterprises that pass the certification are granted preferential customs clearance benefits, such as simplified clearance procedures, reduced inspection rates, and priority handling of business.
The officials from Fuzhou and Xiamen Customs announced that in 2024, the Customs will enhance the efficiency of “AEO” to promote the internal strength of business entities as a key focus for the high-quality development of customs services. They will also collaborate with other departments to increase joint incentives and support for “AEO” and assist more Fujian enterprises in obtaining the “AEO” certification, contributing to the high-level opening up of Fujian Province.
