Recently, the unveiling ceremony of the International Standard Service Station (BRICS Innovation Base) unveiling ceremony was held in Xiamen City.

This service station was established by National Standards Technology Review Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SASMR) and the construction was undertaken by Xiamen Institute of Standardization. The base is the only authorized international standard service platform in southeastern China. It gathers standard information resources from BRICS countries and provides standardized technical support for the construction of BRICS innovation base.

Standardized cooperation is an important way for BRICS countries to deepen their partnership and promote “soft connectivity” among them. Xiamen will take building international standard service stations as an opportunity, adhere to the principle of being demand- and goal-oriented, strengthen coordination between upper and lower levels,, effectively utilize the coordinating, connecting, and supporting functions of standardization to promote inter-connectivity among BRICS countries, develop the innovation base for BRICS countries with high-standard, promote the establishment of a platform for exchange and cooperation in the application of BRICS standards, and jointly strengthen the influence of China’s standards.
