Recently, the second phase of the Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant project has been approved by the State Council to be used in sea area. The sea area covers an area of 72.7139 hectares, injecting new vitality into the development of the marine economy in Fujian Province.
It is learned that Zhangzhou nuclear power plans to build 8 million-kilowatt-level nuclear power units. Specifically, 6 units have been included in the national nuclear power development plan and will be built in two phases. The first phase project (Unit 1 and 2) obtained approval from the State Council to be used at sea area in April 2020, with an approved sea area of 743.3474 hectares. The approved sea area for the second phase project (Unit 3 and 4) covers 72.7139 hectares, including 68.9279 hectares for operational use and 3.7860 hectares for construction use.
