On July 21, the Fujian Provincial Bureau of Statistics released the economic data for the first half of 2023.
According to the unified regional GDP accounting results, in the first half of the year, Fujian’s GDP amounted to RMB 2554.78 billion. In comparable terms, this represented a year-on-year growth of 3.8%, up 2.1 percentage points compared to the first quarter of the year. Specifically, the value-added of the primary industry reached RMB 120.5 billion, up 4.1% year-on-year; the value-added of the secondary industry totaled RMB 1172.764 billion, up 1.7%; and the value-added of the tertiary industry hit RMB 1261.516 billion, up 5.7%.
In the first half of the year, the added-value of Fujian’s industries above the designated scale increased by 0.7% year-on-year, a growth of 5.6 percentage points compared to the first quarter. Fixed asset investment rose by 1.8% year-on-year, an increase of 1.3 percentage points compared to the first quarter. The total retail sales of consumer goods reached RMB 1089.975 billion, up 4.2% year-on-year, an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the first quarter.
In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of residents in Fujian reached RMB 23,809, with a nominal increase of 5.4% year-on-year. Specifically, the per capita disposable income of urban residents amounted to RMB 30,224, with a nominal increase of 4.4% and a real increase of 3.8%; and the per capita disposable income of rural residents rose to RMB 12,783, with a nominal increase of 6.7% and a real increase of 5.9%.
