191 Key Projects for the Digital Economy Unveiled, Involving Overall Investment of RMB 116.8 Billion

The Fujian Provincial Digital Office recently released a list of the 191 key projects in the province’s digital economy for 2023. These projects involve an overall investment of RMB 116.8 billion, with a target of RMB 26 billion to be invested by the end of the year. 

This is the first time that Fujian has identified annual key projects in the digital economy. According to media reports, the project list includes 55 projects in Fuzhou City, with a total investment of RMB 31.18 billion, representing approximately 26.7% of the overall investment. Additionally, there are 10 projects in Putian City, with a combined investment of RMB 22.77 billion, and 27 projects in Zhangzhou City, with a total investment of RMB 18.73 billion. 

Fujian has set a target of achieving an added value of over RMB 2.9 trillion this year for the digital economy. At the 6th Digital China Summit, Fujian secured 606 investment projects, with a total investment of RMB 335.7 billion. For 2023, the province has identified 350 innovative enterprises in the core industries of the digital economy, an increase of 34 compared to 2022. Analysis shows that the “unicorn” and “gazelle” enterprises in the digital economy in Fujian are mostly demonstrating steady development, robust growth potential, and strong innovation capabilities.
