Fujian will support Fuzhou City, Quanzhou City and Longyan City in building gigabit cities, according to the “Digital Fujian Work Plan 2023” recently issued by the General Office of the Fujian Provincial Government. 

Fujian is committed to promoting digitization and intelligent transformation in key sectors, including transportation, energy, water conservancy, municipal works, logistics, ecosystems and the environment. The province plans to launch pilot projects for the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles. Additionally, Fujian will build smart agricultural parks, smart campuses, intelligent factories, city-level smart gas, smart water supply, smart power grids, etc. 

Moreover, Fujian will take measures to promote the use of electronic certificates and licenses in all government services across the province, and expand the social application of electronic licenses. The province will explore new models of electronic certificate and license application in key scenarios, such as public health, tourism, transportation, employment, bank account opening, construction project bidding, as well as access projects for water, electricity, gas, telecommunication and other municipal facilities. Fujian will also step up the integration of electronic certificates and licenses with trusted electronic documents to increase the electronic rate all types of documents for the public. 

Furthermore, Fujian will strive to attract more national-level innovation platforms, major scientific facilities and crucial scientific research projects in the field of digital economy. The province will strengthen the fostering of high-tech enterprises and teaching and research institutions in the digital field and speed up efforts to build high-level digital innovation platforms, Fujian Science City, Xiamen Future Science and Technology City, Quanzhou Time-Space Science Innovation Base, Zhangzhou Yutang Digital Economy Industrial Park and other projects. These initiatives are expected to accelerate the aggregation and development of the new generation of IT industries.
