Forty-four service items for the application and registration of business affairs, including registering a business name, can now be submitted via i-Xiamen (an applet integrated with the government app Minzhengtong), according to the Market Supervision Administration of Xiamen Municipality.

By downloading Minzhengtong on a smartphone, logging in, and following the prompts on the app, market entities can now apply for business name registration, modify a registration file, quickly establish business contact information, cancel a business application, and search for application information. By doing so, applicants will no longer need to make appointments, visit a government office in person, or wait in line, thereby significantly improving their productivity.  

To use these services, log on to the Minzhengtong app and tap the i-Xiamen mini program under the City/County Flagship Store. Then, go to the Selected Topics, slide to the left to find the Business Affairs Registration section, and tap on Commercial Entity Registration. By following the instructions, you can apply for a business name registration, modify a registration file, quickly establish business contact information, cancel a business application, and search for application information.

In recent years, the city’s market supervision administration has adopted a series of measures based on the Internet Plus action plan to create a sound business environment. Thanks to the full integration of IT technologies with traditional government services, business affairs registration and application services are accessible online, making it easier for businesses to be established. Since the start of this year, more than 87% of the applications from business entities operating in Xiamen have been filed online, the highest figure among all cities in Fujian. Moreover, the number of active business entities in Xiamen has surpassed 820,000 as of September this year, tripling compared with the end of 2013.

The local market supervision administration is constantly improving its services to make business registration more convenient. Currently, the time it takes for licensing affairs to receive approval from the Xiamen market supervision administration has been reduced to less than 10% of the stipulated time limit. All review and approval applications require just one trip to its office at most, and 98.8% of such applications do not even require one trip.
