The journalist learned from the Fujian Provincial Department of Finance that according to aspects such as the fundamental research conditions and financial situation, and improvement of scientific and technological innovation capability of different localities, the Ministry of Finance has recently approved the guiding funds of central government for supporting the development of the local science and technology. Fujian Province has received 106 million yuan, up by 74.8% compared to the previous year.

The funds will mainly be applied to 4 aspects: basic research in the free exploration category, construction of scientific and technological innovation bases, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and building of regional innovation system. Fujian Province will adopt multiple ways of financial investment such as direct subsidies, ex-post subsidies, replacing subsidies with rewards, risk compensation and giving venture capital guidance, so as to maximize the effectiveness of the funds and further improve scientific and technological innovation capability and commercialization of achievements. Under the support of  the guiding funds of central government over the years, Fujian Province has implemented a batch of innovation projects with prominent strategic significance and remarkable driving effects, pushing forward positive effects in innovative development of science and technology.
