It is widely known that Fujian province abounds in marine resources and fishery resources, and both the total economic production of the fishing industry and the total output of aquatic products rank third in China. With the constant growth and development of such industries as marine fishery and the increasing construction of coastal towns in recent years, fishing ports play an increasingly important role and an increasing number of comprehensive functions are developed. 

The reporter has learned that, to further promote the high-quality development, Quanzhou city in Fujian province will focus on creating industrial parks, powerful industrial towns and "One Featured Product for One Village", build a leading industrial cluster of fishery having characteristic features, give a new impetus, and make a push to the high-quality development of the modern fishing industry during the period of the "14th Five-Year Plan". 

In terms of accelerating the construction of industrial parks, the construction of Shishi Marine Biotechnology Park and Jinjiang Shenhu Marine Biotechnology Park will be one of the top priorities, and a series of measures will be taken to continuously expand the influence of brands and increase the quality and efficiency of the fishing industry: building a perfect cold-chain logistics system of agricultural (aquatic) products, developing a batch of leading intensive-processing enterprises of aquatic products at the provincial and municipal levels, guiding the major processing enterprises meeting the requirements to gather in industrial parks, building regional brands, and implementing the market-oriented packaging operation. 

At present, an investment of RMB 910 million has been input in the construction of the cluster of quick-freezing and intensive-processing enterprises of marine products in Shishi Marine Biotechnology Park, and the major works of 4 enterprises have been completed, and the major works of 7 enterprises have started, and 11 enterprises are handling the early-stage procedures. The 30,000-ton cold storage and 4 production lines will be constructed in Jinjiang Shenhu Marine Biotechnology Park and 26 projects involving processing, cold storage and cold chain of aquatic products will be constructed, including Shishi Dongsheng Refrigeration Processing Co., Ltd. and Shishi Haiyi Aquatic Product Refrigeration Plant. It is estimated that the cold storage capacity will be increased by 2,700t/d, the processing volume by 132,000 tons, and the output value by RMB 1.73 billion. An investment of RMB 460 million has been completed now. 

In terms of developing powerful fishery towns, the development of the following industries is one of the priorities: Jinjiang Jinjing abalone industry, Huian Chongwu fish roll industry, Huian Xiaozuo squid industry, Shishi Xiangzhi marine fishing industry, and Shishi Yongning aquatic product processing industry. To make higher-quality, larger and stronger featured industries, a variety of large-scale, standardized and professional eco-friendly production bases will be constructed, industrial integration will be further carried out, the industrial system characterized by distinctive features, a reasonable layout, dynamics in business and close fishery cooperation will be created, and the integrated urban-rural development will be demonstrated. 

In terms of cultivating of "One Featured Product for One Village", the development of 27 fishery projects of "One Featured Product for One Village" will be highlighted, including laver of Zhengrong Village, abalone of Weitou Village, and Chinese spiny frog of Guchun Village, and a group of special product brands like "Tu Brand", "Xiang Brand" and "Quan Brand" will be created. Besides, the ecological value, leisure value and cultural value of fishery will be fully tapped, the modes of multi-subject participation, multi-dimensional integration, multi-functional development and multi-resource utilization will be developed, the fishery industrial chains will be extended, and the industrial value-added output will be enhanced.
