Petrochemical Industry

In 2020, the output of industrial companies with annual revenue of more than RMB 20 million expanded by 10.6 percent year on year, exceeding RMB 700 billion. Petrochemical industry clusters have been established, including the Gulei Petrochemical Base, Meizhou Bay Petrochemical Base, Jiangyin New Chemical Materials Special Zone and etc., with a production capacity of 29 million tons of oil per year and 2.1 million tons of ethylene per year, and ranking first in China in terms of the production of caprolactam.

Modern Textiles and Garments Industry

In 2020, industrial companies with annual revenue of more than RMB 20 million increased their added value by 6.7 percent year on year, with revenue exceeding RMB 1.1 trillion. A complete industrial chain from chemical fiber, spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing, and clothing to professional markets has been put in place. The output of yarn, grey cloth, and chemical fiber ranked among the top in the country, which makes Fujian into China’s largest production base for sports shoes.

New Materials Industry

In 2020, industrial enterprises above the designated size increased their added value by 8.4 percent year on year with an output value of more than RMB 660 billion. Fujian province boasts a production capacity of more than 15,000 tons of rare earth materials, including magnetic materials, hydrogen storage materials, and luminescent materials. Twenty-eight grapheme-related platforms have been built across the province. The production of LED products, hydrogen storage alloy materials for hybrid battery and laser crystals ranks among the top in China.
