Foreign enterprises in China have cast their vote of confidence in the prospects of the country's economic development and business environment, as recent surveys showed their optimistic views about the Chinese market, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said on Wednesday.

A sentiment survey released by the British Chamber of Commerce in China on Tuesday found that British businesses are committed to the Chinese market and expect to grow their operations there.

The survey, which reflects the 2021 outlook for 256 UK businesses in China, showed that 44 percent of respondents said they planned to increase their investment in China, and nearly 40 percent consider China as a priority market for global investment plans.

A November survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai said about 82 percent of the respondents said they have no plans to move their manufacturing facilities offshore over the next three years.

An earlier survey conducted by the Japan Economic Research Center and the Nikkei News Agency showed that nearly 70 percent of the interviewees expressed expectations for the strong consumer demand of Chinese people.

Their optimistic attitude of the Chinese market demonstrated that China's persistence in opening-up and its commitment to provide opportunities for the common development of various countries is gaining more recognition from the international community, Zhao said at a regular news conference.

Openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation are the right ways for countries to work together to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and promote the recovery of the world economy, he said.
