The 2020 International Investment Forum, an important part of the 2020 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), will explore trends in the global economy and investment promotion in the post-epidemic era.
The forum is expected to feature one keynote conference and nine parallel forums, which are aimed at shoring up the confidence of global investors, helping other countries benefit from China's economic achievements, and giving China a voice in the world of investment.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the keynote conference will take place virtually, with former president of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic and ambassadors of the Philippines and Yemen giving speeches.
Among those sharing their insights into the topics will be Li Yong, director-general of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and Ramon Lopez, secretary of Trade and Industry of the Philippines.
Lin Yifu, a renowned economist, Qi Bin, deputy general manager of the China Investment Corporation, and other experts will also deliver on-site speeches at the keynote conference.
The nine parallel forums will focus on the Belt and Road Initiative, marine transportation and e-commerce business cooperation between countries involved in the Maritime Silk Road, global asset management, industrial internet, and new energy.
This year's CIFIT will be held both online and offline. The offline event, which is set to take place in Xiamen from Sept 8 to 11, will have an exhibition area of 110,000 square meters and 16 exhibition zones for exhibitors from 38 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and Japan.
The online event, which will be launched on Sept 8, will feature exhibitions, project matchmaking, investment negotiations, forums and symposiums, and contract signings.
