On 12th March 2018, the 1st China-Holland Semi-Conductor Industry Cooperation Forum was held in Haicang District of Xiamen city, including more than 20 Holland semi-conductor enterprises, representatives of Chinese semi-conductor enterprises and investment agency to attend the forum, add up to over 200 people. In the forum, a strategic cooperation framework agreement has been signed by China Semi-Conductor Industry Association and Holland Semi-Conductor Industry Association, which in purpose of laying the foundation for constantly cooperation of bilateral semi-conductor industry. 

This forum is jointly organized by China Semi-Conductor Industry Association and Holland Semi-Conductor Industry Association, China Semi-Conductor Investment Union, Xiamen Semi-Conductor Investment Group and Dezan Shira&Associates as the co-organizer. According to the introduction, taking the lead in world semi-conductor R&D level for a long time, Holland has become one of the few countries in the world which has a complete semi-conductor industrial chain. It developed several world-leading semi-conductor enterprises, includes NXP, ASML and etc., more than a quarter of the semi-conductor equipment in the world come from Holland. Haicang District planned this forum for establishing the communication and exchange platform, further promoting the Innovation and Integration of China and Holland semi-conductor industry, and accelerate the development of Xiamen, even Fujian province semi-conductor industry. 

In the end of 2016, Haicang District declared the establishment of Xiamen Semi-Conductor Investment Group, which act as the main investor in boosting the development of regional integrated circuit industry, meanwhile, it should give plan to its own functions as platforms, that is Investment, fund, capital operation, innovation resources cultivation and guidance in the field of integrated circuits, in order to advance the development of semi-conductor industry. “Haicang has seized the transitory industrial opportunity, signed the contracts of integrated circuit project amount to nearly 30 billion RMB, which makes contribute to develop Haicang rise from the edge of Integrated circuit field to ‘The Eye of the Storm’ in the industry during the past year, and now, in the process of actively forging integrated circuit industry ecosystem and developing 1 hour supply chain of manufacturing industry, namely chip manufacturing, encapsulation, testing, substrate supporting.” said by Wang Huilian, the general manager of Xiamen Semi-Conductor Investment Group. 

It is reported that China, as the largest consumer market for global semi-conductors, currently, it is facing the accelerated layout of nearly all major global semiconductor companies. Now, China has established a complete chain of semiconductor industry and the ability to grasp the historical opportunity. “The first communication and exchange between China and Holland Semi-Conductor Associations has an initiating significance” the responsible person pointed out, it is willing to set up the China-Holland Semi-Conductor Industry Cooperation Platform through this forum, which can be a successful practice case of China Semi-Conductor Industry in thinking globally, following the example of the world-class industry, learning widely from others' strong points and pushing forward the deeper integration and innovation.
