On December 14th, the Second Overseas Chinese Talent Conference for Development Jinjiang Session and the New Generation Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sharing Meeting were held at the Jinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center. His Excellency Lin Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, and relevant officials from the Economic and Technological Department of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, attended and delivered speeches.

Lin Wenbin stated that Fujian is a pioneer province in opening up to the world and a major province for overseas Chinese affairs, with approximately 20 million overseas Chinese spread across more than 190 countries and regions. The Seventh Plenary Session of the 11th Provincial Party Committee thoroughly studied and implemented the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Fujian, proposing to effectively play the new “overseas Chinese card” in the new era. The new generation of the overseas Chinese community is a vital force, and they are encouraged to continue being participants in the construction of a new Fujian, promoters of cross-strait integration, and disseminators of Chinese culture. They are urged to actively return to invest and start businesses, help attract more capital, talent, and projects, further enhance mutual connections, and tell the China and Fujian stories well both domestically and internationally, thereby playing a greater role in supporting the construction of a new Fujian. Relevant departments in Fujian will continue to serve the overseas Chinese community, providing better services and creating favorable environment for the innovation and entrepreneurship of the new generation of overseas Chinese community.

The event focused on better establish an interactive exchange platform between overseas talents, overseas Chinese businesses, and the new generation of the overseas Chinese community with Fujian. It adhered to the dual strategy of “go global + bring in,” facilitating the integration of talent chains, innovation chains, and industrial chains. Nearly 80 high-level overseas talents from about 20 countries (regions) and over 300 overseas community leaders, representatives of overseas Chinese businesspeople, and guest businesspeople from 62 countries (regions) were invited to participate. They engaged in matchmaking and discussions with more than 600 local enterprises, institutions, and venture capital organizations. During the event, representatives were divided into 10 groups to visit key parks, platforms, and enterprises in Jinjiang.

Leaders from the Fujian Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, the Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Fujian Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Fujian Western Returned Scholars Association, as well as relevant leaders from Quanzhou and Jinjiang, attended the event.
