Recently, the People’s Government of Fuqing City officially approved the Control Detailed Plan for the Core Area of the China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Parks” Initiative submitted by the Yuanhong Functional Zone Management Committee in the Fuzhou New Area.
According to the plan, the area lies within Fuqing’s urban growth boundary, bordered by Xingqiao Village to the north, Fuqing Bay to the south, Chengtou Avenue to the east, and Dabaxi River to the west. It is closely connected to Fuqing’s central urban area, the port logistics park, and Fuzhou Binhai New Town, with a mere 12-kilometer distance from Fuqing’ city center.
The planned area is envisioned as a “Core Reception Hall, Industrial Cluster Demonstration Zone, and Ecological Innovation Platform”, forming a unique spatial structure characterized by “One Spine, One Axis, One Core, Four Zones, and Multiple Points”. It includes functional zones such as the Comprehensive Service Zone, Industrial Development Zone, Industry-City Integration Zone, and Vital Coastal Zone.
“One Spine” refers to the industry-city integration spine, running east to west through the key industry-city integration areas of the core area. “One Axis” refers to the vital development axis, extending inland along the central tidal water bay and combining commerce, business, scientific research, and cultural exhibition services. “One Core” refers to the urban service core, which serves as the central hub for various integrated services driving the development of the core area. “Four Zones” comprise segments defined by urban roads and primary functions: Comprehensive Services, Industrial Development, Industry-City Integration, and Coastal Vitality. The plan prioritizes the Comprehensive Service Zone and Industrial Development Zone while laying groundwork for the Industry-City Integration Zone and Vibrant Coastal Zone.
