The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently unveiled the list of distinctive industrial clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the year 2024. After an initial screening process, recommendations, and expert evaluations, 100 outstanding SME distinctive industrial clusters have been selected. Five industrial clusters from our province have been recognized: the chemical composite materials industrial cluster in Fuqing City, the construction equipment industrial cluster in Luojiang District of Quanzhou City, the new electronic components industrial cluster in Changtai District of Zhangzhou City, the semiconductor lighting industrial cluster in Anxi County, and the integrated circuit design industrial cluster in Huli District of Xiamen City.

The Chemical Composite Materials Industrial Cluster in Fuqing City is the province's dedicated zone for chemical composite materials. It is home to 147 enterprises and has established industrial chains for polypropylene, caprolactam, and polyurethane. In 2023, the cluster's output value reached RMB 82.062 billion.

The construction equipment industrial cluster in Luojiang District of Quanzhou focuses on the development of road machinery, excavation machinery, and sand-making equipment, with a current total of 152 enterprises. Over the past 3 years, enterprises within this cluster have contributed to the development of 9 national standards and 4 industrial standards. SMEs in this cluster hold 241 valid invention patents, averaging 206 invention patents per 10,000 people. In 2023, this cluster achieved an output value of RMB 18.256 billion, with an average annual growth rate of over 15% over the past three years.

The new electronic components industrial cluster in Changtai District of Zhangzhou City is characterized by a distinctive supply chain comprising over 100 upstream and downstream enterprises, with leading companies such as Hongfa Electroacoustic, Blue Ocean & Black Stone, and Solux Intelligent at its core. Over the past 3 years, enterprises within this cluster have hosted the development of 33 international, national, and industrial standards. They also hold 286 valid invention patents, averaging 140.64 invention patents per 10,000 people. In 2023, the cluster's output value reached RMB 23.444 billion.

The semiconductor lighting industrial cluster in Anxi County comprises 125 upstream, midstream, and downstream enterprises in the optoelectronic semiconductor sector. They cover the entire industry chain from substrates and epitaxy (chips) to packaging and applications. Among them, there are 6 specialized and innovative SMEs that use specialized and sophisticated technologies for novel and unique products, 1 "Little Giant" enterprise that uses specialized and sophisticated technologies for novel and unique products, and 1 national single-item manufacturing champion. In 2023, the cluster's output value reached RMB 22.372 billion.

The integrated circuit design industrial cluster in Huli District of Xiamen City is home to 203 SMEs, primarily focused on integrated circuit design, research and development, and applications. In 2023, the cluster's output value reached RMB 5.668 billion.
