On the 25th, at the Digital Fujian sub-forum of the 2024 Digital China Summit, the Fujian Administration of Big Data unveiled the Three-Year Action Plan for Developing Fujian’s Satellite Application Industry (2024-2026).
According to the Plan, by 2026, Fujian Province will achieve integrated coordination of satellite data development services across provincial, municipal, and county levels. The industry is expected to reach a scale of RMB 100 billion, fostering 3 to 5 leading enterprises in the sector. Exemplary satellite application scenarios will also be established in areas such as emergency management, ecological protection, and transportation, aiming to create a highly competitive satellite application industry cluster at the national level.
In recent years, Fujian’s satellite application industry has experienced robust growth, with a batch of highly innovative and thriving satellite application companies emerging. An initial industry chain has been established, encompassing everything from “manufacture of ground equipment and user terminals” to “satellite application system integration” and extending to “comprehensive space information services”.
A representative from the Fujian Administration of Big Data has announced that over the next 3 years, Fujian will focus on key links of the industry chain, including “Data, Chips, Terminals, and Applications”. With satellite data development as the core driver and the expansion of application scenarios as a significant catalyst, the province aims to achieve groundbreaking progress in the satellite application industry through two key initiatives: the implementation of “3 Major Actions”, which include the construction of a satellite data service system and the scaling-up of satellite applications, and the “Satellite Application Projects in 8 Specific Fields”.
