The Gulangyu Forum was held on Sept 8 at the Gulangyu Organ Arts Center in Xiamen, Fujian province. Nearly 100 guests including senior officials, industry leaders and representatives from international organizations attended the event.

As one of the major activities of the ongoing 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade, the event is the first interntional high-end forum named after the Gulangyu Island.

Guo Tingting, assistant minister of commerce, said in her speech that China is willing to work with other countries to promote high-quality development and create a development pattern featuring inclusiveness, coordination, win-win cooperation and common prosperity.

CIFIT is an important "window" for the province's opening-up development, said Kang Tao, vice-governor of Fujian province, adding that it is committed to offering a cooperation platform for projects and investors from all over the world.

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Italy in 1970, the two countries have made great achievements in government mutual trusts, economic cooperation, as well as cultural exchanges, said Gianpaolo Bruno, direcotor of Beijing Office and chief coordinator of China and Mongolia Offices of Italian Trade Agency.

Xiamen Vice-Mayor Zhuang Rongliang said that as one of the first batch of cities which got approval to establish a special economic zone, Xiamen has remarkable advantages in opening-up system, the business climate, industrial foundation and urban management.
