Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of the first batch of 5G application security innovation demonstration centers, including Beijing Municipality, Tianjin Municipality, Zhejiang, Fujian, Henan, Guangdong, Chongqing, Sichuan and Guizhou provinces. 

It is learned that in order to further strengthen regional coordination and gather strength, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stipulates that each province should set up a demonstration center. If two or more applicants are shortlisted in the province, each applicant will serve as a sub-center to jointly establish the provincial demonstration center.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology requires that all demonstration centers should further strengthen demonstration features, enhance the innovation and reproducibility of products, services, and solutions, and make efforts in scale promotion according to the requirements and application contents of the "Guidelines for the Declaration and Creation of 5G Application Security Innovation Demonstration Center"; further consolidate the existing scientific research capabilities and supporting resources to provide better conditions for the development of demonstration centers; implement the declaration plan, deliver results in standard development, safety service cultivation, solution promotion, personnel technical training, etc., and play a leading role in innovation. Local authorities should guide the demonstration center to focus on target industries, increase resource investment, and provide the necessary support for the demonstration center in terms of policies and funds. In case there are multiple sub-centers in the province, the local competent departments should coordinate and guide the sub-centers to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, and encourage the development of complementary advantages, fully tap the comparative advantages, and gather strength.
