Fujian starts COVID-19 vaccination for foreign nationals today. Foreign nationals in Fujian within the age group (18 or above) are eligible for COVID-19 vaccines manufactured by China (already launched in the market), on an informed and voluntary basis with the risks undertaken by themselves.

China’s domestic inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines will be used, and two doses are required.

Appointments for inoculation can be made in the following ways:

1.Foreign nationals working in Fujian can make appointments through their employers; foreign teachers and students in Fujian colleges and universities can make appointments through such institutions.

2.Other foreign nationals in Fujian can make appointments online by scanning the QR code below or by calling the designated vaccination sites. List of designated vaccination sites is attached.

COVID-19 inoculation is free of charge for foreign nationals covered by social medical insurance of Fujian. Those not covered are supposed to pay for the jabs. Please contact vaccination sites for the charges.

Either a foreign permanent resident ID card or a valid passport with valid residence permit shall be presented at the vaccination site. Before the administration of vaccines, documents including Informed Consent and Disclaimer of Liabilities need to be signed, proper health protocols need to be followed, and health conditions need to be honestly revealed to the on-site health professionals to determine each individual’s fitness for vaccination. After vaccination, stay in an observation area for 30 minutes and make sure no adverse reactions occur before leaving. Pay close attention to personal health status within 14 days of inoculation and seek medical advice promptly in case of any adverse response.

Vaccination can reduce infection risks. However, no vaccine is 100% effective. It is important to maintain good hygiene habits, including wearing masks, washing hands regularly, and keeping social distance. When necessary, foreign nationals should take nucleic acid test as required.
