The infrastructure of Mazu Health City on the north bank is complete, and the main roads in the core area have been completed and opened to traffic. It has introduced high-end specialized hospitals such as Ruishi Potential Youth Center, Union Medical College Hospital affiliated to Fujian Medical University, Houxin Big Health, Pain Disease Specialized Hospital, forming a "small comprehensive+large specialized+medical technology sharing" model. Putian Lanhai Nuclear medicine Research Center, Southeast Research Institute of Lanzhou University and other projects jointly organized with the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have also been launched, which has formed a five in one functional layout of "medical treatment, education, research and development, production, and health care".

In 2024, Fujian Province had 344 pharmaceutical enterprises above designated size, generating a total revenue of RMB 60.84 billion. Our province has established a relatively comprehensive pharmaceutical industrial system, covering categories such as chemical APIs (active pharmaceutical ingredients), chemical drug preparations, biopharmaceuticals, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparations, TCM decoction pieces, and medical devices. The biopharmaceutical industry in Fujian Province is primarily concentrated in Xiamen, Sanming, Fuzhou, and Zhangzhou, with these four cities accounting for approximately 80% of our province's total revenue.
